As apart of my first semester curriculum at Franklin
Pierce College, I was required to involve myself in the local community, taking part in a Civic Engagement Project. We
had to participate in 16 hours of community service involved in a project that was of interest.
From the moment that this community service project was introduced the first area of service
that came into my mind surrounded children. I want to be a teacher and more importantly an elementary school teacher so
working with children is the most sensible area to voulenteer in. I heard about many projects involving helping children
such as S.K.I.P, Telephone Tales, and Pierce Pals. Chosing one would be half the battle.
